Everything Is amazing about Saudi National day and its Culture.

The Event was organized on 21st September 2018 in Cedar city to showcase the Saudi culture to the rest of the world. Different countrymen from many different parts of Saudi Arabia were part of the occasion to represent Saudi Arabia. The event was organized to show to the world how the different people in Saudi Arabia lived and what their values and traditions such as their dress code, food, and local industry were like. It represented the culture which is Arab and has its roots in Islam. The idea was also to give a soft image of Saudi Arabia to the world which is considered to be backward and a sponsor of terrorism by the International Community.

I love my Country, and I am attached with it, so that is the first reason I did this project, my primary motive to undertake this project is to give awareness to people regarding Saudi culture and involve them in my traditional values. Like how Saudi people celebrate their national day, what kind of food and music they listen too. I planned an event to perform all this. This event took place in my community where we have a lot of Saudi people, and I called some guest of honors from different cultures so that they can be there with us and feel how it is to be a Saudi person.

My country is a great inspiration for me, and because I love it, so this idea came from this perspective. Moreover, it was my dream to celebrate my countries’ national day in the USA as we celebrate this day every year in Saudi Arabia. Organizing this event in here really helped me out to bring back all those memories that we had when we celebrate this day in Saudi Arabia. So, my inspiration made it possible to organize this event.

There were some of the challenges that I had to face during this event, but not all of them were complicated. Food that we offered during the event was a bit expensive so collecting money for that was the biggest challenge for me. Moreover, we bought some Niqab, Abaya and Saudi men traditional cloths to present during the event finding them was quite challenging. Another display at the event were the different kinds of dates that are grown in Saudi Arabia such as the Ajwa date which is very expensive and is said to be good for the diseases of the heart. We had a little miscommunication with the event manager regarding the theme and some of the things there were out or order so replacing them and changing them at that moment was difficult for us.

The project benefited a lot of people other than me because there are many Saudi people and students living in the USA and they felt pleasure during this event. Providing them a proper place to celebrate their National day was everything for them. The manager asked us to do this kind of project again in upcoming years for recreation and to present their culture again.

I polished my leadership skills, and this was the right moment for me to see how capable I am. How much more effort I have to put so that I can polish these skills. Other than polishing my leadership skills the feeling of presenting my home country’s culture in front of a lot of people was an amazing experience, and it satisfied my inner need of being complete. I was confused at the starting either I’ll be able to complete this project but communication, public relations and quality time spent designing this project made it possible for me to understand that proper skills are not enough to get done something like that we need a great effort.
